Field notes

First and William. Start with the creek’s old course, then place the photographs around it.

I’m looking for views of that block from before the enclosure.

West Front Michigan University, on Pettibone’s 1854 map. The library traces the campus depiction to the 1840 plan.

I’m looking at later campus views to see whether that picture turns up again.

Wall Street Bridge. The postcard gives August 6, 1909 as the collapse date. The next spring’s contract gives me a place to start looking for the replacement.

Find a later view from the same bank. Check the approaches and the house on the left.
